Frequently Asked Questions

How can I pay?
The cabin needs to be pre-booked. We can only accept cheques.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
We need a deposit of £100 per week at time of booking (short breaks need full payment at time of booking) to ensure your booking. We require a returnable good housekeeping deposit of £50 by seperate cheque when you send your final balance - this will be returned shortly after your departure assuming there is no damage to the cabin.
What happens if I cancel my holiday?
We try to be sympathetic if you need to cancel due to emergencies, but the deposit of £100 is non-returnable and if you cancel less than 5 weeks before your arrival we will require the full balance. We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover this eventuality.
What extra charges are there for the cabin?
Electricity is supplied by a coin fed meter which takes 1 pound coins. We can also supply linen at an extra cost if required.
So I need to bring towels & bed-linen?
We ask our guests to provide their own linen, although we can provide them if required at an extra cost.
Can we bring our pet - he/she is really well behaved.
Unfortunately, we have to consider that some of our guests have pet allergies, so we can't accept pets - sorry!.
How many cabins do you have?
At the moment, just the one - we'd like to think that it lets us concentrate on keeping it in perfect condition for when you arrive.
We do also have lodges available close by, for more info visit our lodge website.
Where is the cabin?
The cabin is located in the grounds of Burnside, Drumuillie, but it is seperate from the main building - located in its own area, along with its own parking area.
Is there any snow, will it be snowing when we arrive?
Depending upon the time of year we hope so, but unfortunately we can't guarantee it.
Where are the nearest pubs and restaurants?
Lisi's Restaurant is the nearest restaurant - about 2 miles away, and the Boat of Garten village has a restaurant and bar. Aviemore is close by, and has a large choice of restaurants and bars. We can also recommend ‘The Glass House’ in nearby Grantown.
Is there a golf course nearby?
The nearest golf course is in the village of Boat of Garten, a couple of miles away.
